East Baton Rouge
Parish has experienced unprecedented growth during the last four
years. The next four years will see great change. With an almost
complete change in the East Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council the
need for proven leadership is critical. It is imperative that
the citizens of District 1 have an experienced, dedicated, and
qualified leader who knows what to do, how to do it, and cares
enough to get it done We cannot afford the time it would take
for “on-the-job-training”. We need a person with a proven
record. Trae Welch is the only candidate for this seat who has
the knowledge and experience required.
District 1 is unique. We have the cities of Baker, Central, and
Zachary as well as the rural areas of Baywood, Chaneyville, the
Plains, Pride, and the historic Port Hudson. As different as we
may seem, we have common concerns and needs.
With growth comes the added stress on our drainage, our streets,
fire, police, and emergency services. We must plan today with an
eye on the future - 10 years, 20 years, 30 years from now. To do
that requires knowledge and the skill and desire to work with
the community, the local leaders, as well as state and federal
government. To accomplish this we must have a leader. We must
have Trae Welch.
